Pro-child platforms are commonplace in politics, particularly during election campaigns. All parties pledge to create more child care places in nurseries and day care centers. In order to make sure that even infants will get good starting chances. And since brain research has shown us that the time windows for imparting knowledge are already open when most children are still in the sandbox, the culture ministers have placed early childhood education on their banners: day care centers and kindergartens are to be turned into centers of pre-school education. Thus far, however, real efforts have been made only for increasing the number of places. Questions concerning quality and the future availability of better educated chaild care workers and smaller groups are left unanswered. Will everything stay the same? Podcast (MP3, 20,4 MB)

Why Daimler is doing the right thing by nurturing intelligence from the start.

An automotive group is building nursing care facilities – shouldn’t this be dispensed with, especially in times of crisis? Why is Daimler AG becoming involved in early childhood education and investing significant amounts in child care, development, education and services for our three-year old children of employees at all German locations?
